SOVO was built on the simple belief that children learn best when they do things themselves.

Our Mission

Growing curious,
capable and caring
learners.

Our philosophy

At SOVO International School, our philosophy is grounded in the principles of the International Baccalaureate. We place the learner at the centre, building curiosity, critical thinking and deep understanding through inquiry and real-world experiences.

Inquiry that starts
with curiosity.

Children ask questions, explore ideas and build understanding through meaningful experience.

Voice. Choice.
Ownership.

Children take an active role in how they learn, building confidence, resilience and responsibility.

We nurture
  • Integrity
  • Reflection
  • Balance

Learning to make
a difference.

We nurture principled, open-minded and caring learners who understand their place in an interconnected world.

Why SOVO exists.

For decades, the education industry has taught children about the world only through textbooks. We want education to be about being part of that world.

Every concept our students learn is eventually tested, built, and applied.

  • From seed to plate

Every stop food makes before it reaches a plate.

  • From pricing to purpose

A lesson on commerce became a lesson on community.

This is not an add-on to our curriculum. It is our curriculum.

Our philosophy:
the four pillars.

Four principles shape how children learn, question, connect and create at SOVO, turning everyday experiences into deeper understanding.

01

Learn by Doing

We believe true knowledge comes from experience. Every child learns through hands-on exploration not passive memorisation, but real, tested understanding.

02

Curiosity

We nurture a spirit of inquiry. Children are encouraged to ask questions, explore deeply, and learn with wonder rather than fear of being wrong.

03

Empathy

We build a culture of kindness and understanding. Our students grow into individuals who notice others and act on what they notice.

04

Innovation

We embrace creativity and new ideas, equipping children with the confidence to think differently in a rapidly changing world.

How we define
learning & teaching.

Children learn through inquiry, action and reflection, with teaching shaped around their backgrounds and experiences.

Learning at SOVO

Learning is a dynamic interplay of inquiry, action and reflection. Children build their own understanding through real experience, then learn to explain their thinking, own their journey and reflect on how they learn best.

Teaching at SOVO

Teaching means building an environment that values every child's background and experience. Continuous feedback, differentiated approaches and collaborative learning help every child grow with confidence, curiosity and ownership.

Our no-sugar policy.

Clear food guidelines help families care for what children eat, while respecting allergies and each child’s dietary needs.

At SOVO, no artificial sugar enters our classrooms: no chocolates, toffees, biscuits or sweets in tiffins or snacks. This isn't about restriction. It's about care, shared by parents who feel as strongly as we do.

Students also don't share food, out of respect for allergies and dietary needs.

A small policy with a big idea: what our children eat matters as much as what they learn.

The citizens
we’re raising.

SOVO’s community recognises a shared responsibility for the world beyond our gates. We raise children who are adaptable, open-minded and respectful of cultural diversity: thinkers who question, reflect and innovate, and who act when they see someone in need.

This isn’t a slogan. It’s why our students run businesses and give the profits away. It’s why they sit with children they’ve never met and call it a Friday well spent.
